$$\mathrm{volume}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{wood}\mathrm{block}:$$$${\mathrm{V}}_{\mathrm{W}}=8\times 5\times 25=1000{\mathrm{cm}}^3$$$$$$$$\mathrm{weight}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{wood}\mathrm{block}:$$$${\mathrm{G}}_{\mathrm{W}}=0.7\times 1000=700\mathrm{g}$$$$$$$$\mathrm{volume}\mathrm{in}\mathrm{liquid}:$$$${\mathrm{V}}_{\mathrm{L}}=\frac{700}{1.12}=625{\mathrm{cm}}^3$$$$$$$$\mathrm{volume}\mathrm{above}\mathrm{liquid}:$$$$\mathrm{\Delta }\mathrm{V}={\mathrm{V}}_{\mathrm{W}}-{\mathrm{V}}_{\mathrm{L}}=1000-625=375{\mathrm{cm}}^3$$
