$$\frac{x^2}{x+1}+\sqrt{x}=1$$$$\frac{x^2}{x+1}=1-\sqrt{x}$$$$x^2=(x+1)(1-\sqrt{x})$$$$x^2(1+\sqrt{x})=(1+x)(1-x)$$$$2x^2+x^2\sqrt{x}=1.$$$$x\approx \frac{-1+\sqrt{5}}{2}.$$
