$$CD=diameter=D$$$$EB=30/2=15$$$$\frac{CE}{EB}=\frac{EB}{ED}$$$$\Rightarrow \frac{9}{15}=\frac{15}{D-9}$$$$\Rightarrow 9(D-9)={15}^2$$

$${(r-9)}^2+{15}^2=r^2$$$$\Rightarrow 18r=225+81$$$$\Rightarrow r=\frac{306}{18}=17\Rightarrow D=34cm.$$
