$$y={kx}^2$$$$8=4k\Rightarrow k=2\Rightarrow y=2x^2$$$$\Rightarrow x^2=4\left(\frac{2+a}{8}\right)y=\frac{y}{2}$$$$\Rightarrow a=2.$$
