$$\mathrm{Show}\mathrm{that}:{\tan }^{-1}\left(\frac{\mathrm{p}}{\mathrm{p}+2\mathrm{q}}\right)+{\tan }^{-1}\left(\frac{\mathrm{p}}{\mathrm{p}+\mathrm{q}}\right)=\frac{\pi }{2}$$

$${that}^{\prime }snottrue!$$$${let}^{\prime }ssayp=q=1$$$$LHS={\tan }^{-1}\frac{1}{3}+{\tan }^{-1}\frac{1}{2}\approx 0.785\ne \frac{\pi }{2}$$$$forp=0,$$$$LHS=0+0\ne \frac{\pi }{2}$$$$$$$$pleasecheckyourquestion!$$
