$$\mathrm{lhs}=\mathrm{rhs}\Rightarrow x=\pm 2;\mathrm{lhs}\mathrm{defined}\mathrm{for}\mid x\mid >\sqrt{2}$$$$\Rightarrow$$$$-2<x<-\sqrt{2}\vee \sqrt{2}<x<2\mathrm{same}\mathrm{as}\sqrt{2}<\mid x\mid <2$$
