show that the intergral ∫_1 ^∞ (1/x^p )dx converges for p>1 find it value

showthattheintergral11xpdxconvergesforp>1finditvalue

∫_1 ^∞ (dx/x^p )=[(1/((p−1)x^(p−1) ))]_∞ ^1   =(1/(p−1))(1−lim_(x→∞) (1/x^(p−1) ))=(1/(p−1))

1dxxp=[1(p1)xp1]1=1p1(1limx1xp1)=1p1
