(√(25x^8 )) can be reduced to 5x^4 ,  but it can also be −5x^4 ,  because (5x^4 )^2 =25x^8  and (−5x^4 )^2 =25x^8   (√(25x^8 )) is multivalued, so it is  not a polynomial.

25x8canbereducedto5x4,butitcanalsobe5x4,because(5x4)2=25x8and(5x4)2=25x825x8ismultivalued,soitisnotapolynomial.

(√(25x^8 ))=5x^4   (√(25x^8 ))≠−5x^4

25x8=5x425x85x4
