$$x=\frac{x+1}{x+2}\Rightarrow x=\frac{-1\pm \sqrt{5}}{2}$$$$y=\frac{2(y+1)}{2y+3}\Rightarrow y=\frac{-1\pm \sqrt{17}}{4}$$$$\therefore x+y=\left(\frac{-1\pm \sqrt{5}}{2}\right)+\left(\frac{-1\pm \sqrt{17}}{4}\right)$$
